Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in School Counselor (K-12) (Level 1).
The license position area must be in Counselor/Guidance.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.

Summary Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the professional school counselor promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that that focuses on academic success, personal and social development and career and college guidance for all students. Services are provided through guidance curriculum, individual planning, Preventive and Responsive services and support services. Services may be delivered through individual and group activities in multiple mediums. The counselor will maintain a program consistent with state standards requirements and professional best practices. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Deliver guidance curriculum supporting student development Analyze student data and develop data driven programs for intervention action plans to include improved academic performance, retention, graduation and matriculation outcomes Provide responsive services to individuals or groups on academic and personal issues Provide an individual planning system to guide students toward postsecondary goals Key responsibility for student graduation plans and portfolios as required by state Assist students in the acquisition of study skills, academic opportunities and benefits Work with the student and family to create the College and Career Ready Plan (CCR Plan) Provide direct student/family support presence (live office hours, synchronous online support, FAQ, best practices, etc.) Provide system support to strengthen the efforts of teachers, staff, and parents Participate in professional development opportunities Assist in scheduling and summer school scheduling Other duties as assigned Able to work M-F, 8-5.
