Fleet Mechanic for South Summit School District

South Summit School District is seeking applicants for a full-time District Fleet Mechanic. The position is a year-round position at 40 hours per week with full benefits. Salary will be based on the 2024-2025 Salary Schedule and will receive 100% paid family medical benefits, dental at 50%, retirement/pension, life insurance, and paid time off. Qualified applicants The following qualifications and duties may include, but are not limited to: • Requires High School diploma, GED or equivalent. • Requires a Class B CDL and school bus endorsement - Training provided by South Summit • Requires mechanic provides own tools with exception of specialty tools • Requires participation in a drug testing pool • Mechanic must maintain a current DOT physical • Mechanic must pass physical assessment • Must demonstrate mechanical ability to fix and maintain entire District fleet • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and software • Requires references demonstrating personal integrity and dependability • Must demonstrate competence in reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills • Requires excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills • Ability to problem solve and initiate activities within board policy and procedural guidelines • Must be self-motivated and able to work alone • Obtain UHP State Safety Inspection License for heavy duty trucks and school buses
