FIXED ASSET TECHNICIAN
 
 
Location: Tucson or Phoenix
Employee Status: Permanent
Hours Per Week: 30
Work Calendar: 12-Month
Pay Rate:  $15.60-$19.82
CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION
CLASS SUMMARY:
 
The position is responsible for recording newly acquired assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing assets, accounting for the disposal of assets and moving assets for the agency. The position is responsible for the management of document retention records for the agency.
  • Track receipt of fixed assets
  • Tag assets when received
  • Scan documents for access and security
  • Monitor and maintain the asset location
  • Track the disposition of assets in the inventory records system
  • Organizes and conducts physical Inventory of assets annually
  • Assist with the fiscal year end reconciliation of assets
  • Assist with the disposal of assets through surplus property
  • Research missing or lost equipment
  • Maintain database of document retention
  • Complete paperwork for document destruction
  • Travel between the campuses and regional offices
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of organizational document retention records requirements
  • 1 year inventory control practices and tracking
  • 1 year specialized software for asset and records management (preferred)
  • Computer proficiency in Google Workplace or Microsoft Office
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to pass FBI and State background check or Fingerprint Clearance Card as position requires by policy or Statute
  • Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Forklift Certification

  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
  • Principles and practices of administration and management
  • Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
  • Inventory or Asset Management
  • Arizona State document retention schedules
  • Basic record keeping using electronic and manual systems
  • Recording receipt, distribution and destruction of tangible assets
  • Maintaining organized filing systems for both electronic to physical records
  • Data entry and cross-referencing of information, and database management
  • Procedures for disposal and movement of assets
SKILL IN:
  • Understand and apply Arizona's policies and procedures for asset receipt, distribution and destruction
  • Developing and maintaining organized filing systems both electronic and physical
  • Accurate data entry
  • Apply a logical thought process necessary for problem solving and decision-making
  • Research and reconcile documents to automated systems
  • Organize and prioritize
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Maintain inventory control records
  • Use of spreadsheet and database software
