This will allow staff to engage in planning, collaboration for personalization, and complete special education documentation. Our classrooms are a hybrid of the mainstream and resource models found at typical schools. Our teachers are all required to have an IEP caseload and work with students who may or may not be receiving special education services.

Position Purpose: Our Social Skills classroom is a part of Spectrum’s continuum of instruction model. Students in this class receive instruction on identified social skills targets as a component of Spectrum’s charter to provide daily social skills education. A Special Education license in Mild/Moderate and/or behavior experience is preferred; enrollment in a state-approved Educator Preparation Program will be considered.
Description of Responsibilities: Implements the assigned program of study. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning. Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task. Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school policy. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. Meets professional responsibilities. Maintains and upgrades professional skills. Maintains professional work habits. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. Adheres to the teacher code of conduct. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal, Behavior Services Coordinator, and the Director of Academics
