Performing Arts Teachers at South Summit Middle & High

South Summit School District is seeking visionary applicants for two full-time Performing Arts teachers with a combination of expertise in any of the following Band Choir String Instruments Theatre Any additional performing arts talent you can offer

Currently these positions are held by a full time band teacher and a full time choir/string instrument teacher.

Salary will be based on the 2023-2024 Licensed Salary Schedule and will receive full benefits. • 100% paid traditional medical plan, 100% paid Life and LTD plan, 50% traditional dental plan, Utah Retirement, and paid leave benefits.

South Summit School District believes in supporting music programs and has a tradition of both a strong choral department as well as a strong band program. In recent years, we have also added strings to this combination. We are searching for individuals who are strong recruiters to continue to build and maintain our music programs, and individuals who are desiring to continue to build upon the existing traditions through establishing positive relationships with students and parents.

These positions require individuals who are comfortable and capable of teaching students ranging from sixth to twelfth grades –with sixth through eighth grades at South Summit Middle School and ninth through twelfth grades at South Summit High School.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, a current Utah Secondary teaching license, and endorsements in music are preferred. Applicants must have excellent communication skills with students, staff members, and parents. They must also be able to make and keep student records and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
