Classroom Teacher for, Career & Technical Education (CTE) Courses
Summary
Syracuse Arts Academy, Jr. High is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated CTE Teacher for grades 8 and 9. CTE is provided in a variety of settings and should reflect customized training for future entrepreneurs and or employees in the workplace. The CTE courses should provide introduction by way of career and technical education, introduce students to career options, assist in the development of career goals, provide technical skills, provide occupation-specific skills, and prepare students for further education and training. As such, the primary responsibilities include and are not limited to, the instruction in the following courses, Digital Literacy, Web Development, and Exploring Computer Science. Opportunities to grow the program by way of coding, robotics, and other 21st century innovations are welcomed. This position will support and uphold the mission and vision of Syracuse Arts Academy.

- However most school teacher jobs contain elements of each of these typical responsibilities including teaching, student management, administrative tasks and extracurricular activities - To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential - Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences - this may include explaining new ideas and unfamiliar concepts with authority, and in a clear and concise way so that students can understand - Develop schemes of work and lesson plans - Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities - Prepare classroom for class activities - Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities that meet state standards - Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs - Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment - Use relevant technology to support instruction - Observe and evaluate student's performance and development - Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments - Provide appropriate feedback on work - Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students - Respond to all communications within 24 hours - Effectively manage program forms, records, and student information - Attend all required meetings as needed - Complete required paperwork and documentation - Performs such other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor
