Description
Mountain Heights Academy, an online free public charter school, is now accepting applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Social Worker for the 2023-2024 school year. A Social Work License is required. The employee will work on-site in West Jordan. This is a salaried position commensurate with experience.
The Social Worker will be hired for the purpose/s of supporting school counselors in their work assisting their students and families. The Social Worker will work under the direction of a lead school counselor and the administrative team. Employee will: • Work with families to provide access to local services and make home visits. • Support administrators and counselors with well-checks and make recommendations • Train faculty on trauma sensitivity, recognizing signs, and what to do. • Develop curriculum for students and faculty. • Meet with families to identify needs that interfere with learning–social, emotional, and behavior problems. Develop plans to support. • Follow up with students who struggle with addictive behaviors, providing resources and tools to help students and families. • Support parents and teachers with behavior management strategies. • Attend 504 and/or IEP meetings as needed to help with specific issues. • Provide check-ins for students, parents, and families working on social, emotional, or behavioral issues. • Mentor counseling groups.
