POSITION: HEALTH AIDE/ATTENDANCE CLERK
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
Proficient in use of computer.
CPR and first aid certified
Experience in the medical field with knowledge of illnesses, medical disorders and treatment.
Ability to multitask in a high volume office setting.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Paragon may find appropriately acceptable.

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Principals, teachers, students, staff and parents
JOB GOALS:
Keep health office organized and records maintained on a daily basis.
Provide students with medical care as needed in a timely manner.
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents and courteously provide necessary assistance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and assist students that come into the health office.
Daily attendance.
Implement and maintain CUTS program.Administer and monitor students with prescription medication and first aid.
Inform parents of expiration dates and when RX is low.
Be readily available with health office” to-go” bag during emergency procedures and drills. Assist students in need during emergency situations and drills.
Prepare and maintain first aid kits for all class rooms.
Oversee infection control measures in the health office.
Maintain medical log within each student’s file when they visit the health office.
Input immunizations into Power schools and maintain records. Notify parents when students are due to get immunizations.
Prepare medication for students attending field trips, as well as prepare first aid supplies for field trips.
Monitor health office supplies and orders.
Maintain chronic illness forms, incident reports, inhaler consent forms, and medication release forms.
Inform administration and counseling of all chronic illness forms. Plan and implement school health protocol for students with chronic illness forms.
Monitor and upkeep of AED in the gym.
Inform and instruct staff as needed on emergency protocol for diabetic and seizure students.
Meet with diabetic and seizure students/parents to go over care in the beginning of the school year to review expected care and procedures. Meet throughout the year if necessary.
Administer hearing and vision screening, communicate with parents regarding results and maintain records in student’s health file.
Keep dress code clothing organized, cleaned, and available for students.
Be familiar with 504 plans and IEPs that contain clauses regarding to health office matters and assist to accommodate students as necessary through their health office needs.
Assist front office when needed as well as covering absences.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 186 days per year. Hours normally 7:00am-3:30pm.
EVALUATION: At least annually by Principal
