Vista School is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Language Arts Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive language arts instruction to students in grades 6-9, fostering a love for literature and writing, and contributing to the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that meet state and national standards for language arts. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students and accommodate different learning styles. Assess and document student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and a love for reading and writing. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school community to support student learning and well-being. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices. Incorporate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement. Prepare students for standardized tests and other assessments in language arts.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Valid state teaching certification in Secondary Language Arts. Proven experience teaching language arts to high school students (grades 9-12). Strong knowledge of literature, writing techniques, and grammar. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with curriculum development and the integration of technology in the classroom. Familiarity with project-based learning and other innovative teaching methodologies. Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, school newspaper, or drama productions.
