The Hempfield School District has a continuous need for Substitute Teachers during the entire school year. Because this need arises across all curricular areas, Substitute Teachers in all subjects and grade levels are necessary. It is our obligation, whenever possible, to assign a person certified in the subject area to be taught.

Once all paperwork is submitted, the applicant will be emailed interview questions. Upon completion of a successful interview and reference checks, the substitute will be contacted to complete additional paperwork. Once all paperwork is completed, a recommendation will be made to the Board of School Directors for approval as Substitute Teacher.

In order to remain a substitute from year to year, substitutes must provide the Human Resource Office with a written notice of intent. Each Substitute will be contacted during the summer as a reminder of this requirement.

The Hempfield School District is currently using Aesop, a web-based/automated phone system for substitute placements. Instructions for using Aesop are included in the Aesop Substitute Guide.

Please note: Substitute applications submitted during June, July and August will be processed mid August

Only complete and submitted applications will be reviewed. Interested candidates should submit an application online. Questions can be directed to hroffice@hempfieldsd.org.
