Teacher Aide for Visually Impaired Student(s)

Leadership Learning Academy, a charter school in Layton, is now accepting applications for a part-time Teacher Aide for Visually Impaired Student(s).

Leadership Learning Academy is a tuition-free public charter elementary school. We offer a research-based model to challenge students to become confident learners and leaders. Leadership Learning Academy is looking for teachers who have a strong background in specific core subjects including: reading, math, science, social studies, etc.

Qualified applicants will work under the direction of and assist the certified teacher of the Visually Impaired as well as classroom teacher; while working one-on-one with student(s) who has a visual impairment. Facilitate and provide access to the school’s curriculum. Promote self-advocacy and independence with students. Receive training on how to produce braille and read braille. Assist students in accessing the braille curriculum and work with the students on braille fluency (under the direction of the Teacher of the Visually Impaired). Also help students access different assistive technology. Preference may be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching. Candidate must also submit for and pass a background check in accordance with Utah's Department of Public Safety requirements.
