About Spectrum Academy Spectrum Academy is a premier Charter School that specializes in working with student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 80% of our student body receives Special Education services.
Our classrooms are a hybrid of mainstream and resource models. Teachers at Spectrum Academy are required to have an IEP caseload and work with students who receive Special Education services and have behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Essential Functions Implements the assigned program of study. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning. Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task. Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school policy. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. Meets professional responsibilities. Maintains and upgrades professional skills. Maintains professional work habits. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. Adheres to the teacher code of conduct. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal, Behavior Services Program Administrator, and the Academic Director For Secondary Teachers Conduct transition assessments. Provide transition instruction. Draft annual transition plans.
