The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an employment opportunity with our school. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to fill the position of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
This is a part-time position that works during the school year, August through May in our after school residential program.
Principal Duties:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will:
-Be supervised by a professional Occupational Therapist.
-Evaluate students’ needs and administer therapy to preserve and improve abilities for independent functions, such as range of motion, strength, tolerance, coordination, behavioral management skills, social skills, activities of daily living, and many other independent living skills.
-Coordinate program activities, services, and/or program implementation.
-Perform physical assessment of patients and/or residents, refer patients requiring further evaluation or treatment to registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician or other health care professional.
-Develop and implement treatment plans to help students mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning.
-Document student progress and revise treatment plans as required, complete administrative paperwork.
