OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES: UCP of Central Florida provides pediatric therapy services via educational and medical service delivery models to children with varied diagnoses from birth to 21 y/o. Our occupational therapy services focus on preserving, developing and restoring fine motor, self-help, sensory-motor and visual perceptual skills incorporating a variety of treatment techniques, approaches, and the use of a therapeutic devices.


Submit accurate and timely Super bills on a daily basis according to UCP guidelines. Provide and monitor client coverage and turn in and revise schedules on a weekly basis. Select and conduct appropriate OT evaluations and re-evaluations. Timely and accurately write client evaluations and re-evaluations according to UCP guidelines. These documents must be turned in 48 hours from conducting event. Correctly interpret evaluative data to establish measurable goals for the clients. Effectively apply and adapt evidence-based therapy sessions according to patient’s needs and established goals. This includes recognizing when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy services. Write accurate and complete daily progress notes at the end of each session using UCP format and update accountability forms at the end of each session as needed. Conduct home assessments when necessary. Ensure compliance of UCP Confidentiality, FERPA and HIPAA patient rights procedures for all client files and information in therapist caseload. Submit accurate and timely Part C/Early Step reports, assistive technology reports, equipment recommendations, discharge notes and school reports. Provide Occupational Therapy consultations to education staff to facilitate incorporation of clients’ Occupational therapy goals into classroom activities and participate in an interdisciplinary planning with staff members. (Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Education personnel and Family Services). Provide parent consultations and instructions for home programs. Copy of all home programs should be sent to main file. Generate monthly parent therapy notes for in-clinic clients. Assist with training and monitoring interns, students, (only for contractors interested in this assignment) Participate in client staffing, classroom team meetings, wheelchair clinics, and in hospital, doctor’s office, school, and medical equipment company visits when necessary. Recommend and create/pursue assistive devices or equipment for individual clients through purchase or loans for use at UCP and at home. Complete correspondence to community resources regarding client care (i.e. physicians, schools) as needed. Work with other community agencies as directed or needed.
