Attendance Clerk (22/23SY)
DEFINITION: Under close supervision, monitors and maintains student attendance, new enrollments and student withdrawals for Sunnyside Unified School District.

Gathers and records student absences; notifies parents or guardians of unreported absent children; answers phone calls and questions; generates reports for purposes of absences, new entries and withdraws; prints and verifies reports or profiles regarding attendance for accuracy; processes registration and withdrawals for students; assists with registering and withdrawing students; communicates with parents and students to gain attendance compliance.
Issues tardy passes and early release forms to students; maintains verification rosters; inputs data; attends monthly meetings; prepares and delivers letters from schools or from District regarding attendance issues; corresponds with Pima County Attorney’s Office regarding attendance compliance issues; and performs related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, repetitive motion and lifting up to 25 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year clerical experience. Must possess an Arizona driver license. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: 8 Hourly Pay: $13.47 Hours per Day: 8 Days: 225 Start Date: 2022/2023 School Year
