Guest Teacher Coordinator Job Description
Job Title: Guest Teacher Coordinator
Credentials: None required for this position.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Training or experience required: 5 years of successful employment as a secretary or administrative assistant with school district experience, preferred. Must have strong computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Publisher, and other software knowledge desirable.

Reports to: Deputy Superintendent
Contract: 185/ 4 Hour Days
Salary Schedule: Secretary 1
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Essential Job Functions:
Check on hardware and software for proper operation of SFE and Munis, also work with technical support when system is down.
Provide training to new secretaries and administrators regarding the SFE system.
Update and publish Substitute Handbook and Application to prepare for new school year.
Recruit and provide orientation classes for substitutes.
Process and review substitute applications.
Enter and maintain substitute information on SFE and Munis.
Assist substitutes in resolving discrepancies with pay.
Enter long term substitutes into SFE, complete paperwork for payroll and maintain files for reference.
Maintain all necessary data for both substitutes and employees on SFE (ie: recommendations to hire, COA’s and resignations).
Take attendance for ASC campus, collects absences forms and verifies absences with weekly report for payroll.
Provide “Help Desk” assistance for employees, secretaries, and substitutes. Assist secretaries when problems occur when entering substitutes Assist with corrections and updates of employee absences Assist school secretaries in resolving discrepancies in employee absence balances.
Verification of employment for substitutes and other staff when needed.
Assist site administrators when problems arise with subs to resolve or remove sub from site.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Successful performance of the job requires good customer service/people skills and to handle problems and provide information and technical assistance as requested. It requires complying with safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to staff or to students. It requires following school dress standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns for staff. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving are critical to the success of the position.Help manage the computerization of school district operations. Provide training and support to district staff in the use of administrative computer systems. Perform such tasks to the ultimate benefit of the educational program. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job. Since there may be several ways to solve a problem, an incumbent is free to choose the solution.
