Description:
Primary responsibility will be to provide maintenance on all Tooele County School District properties located in Ophir, Utah. Will be responsible to check visitors in and out of Ophir Canyon Education Center. Will assist Maintenance Department in maintaining attractive, sanitary and safe facilities for students, staff and public and ensures that assigned tasks are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner. And other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

Job Summary:

  • Cleans assigned facilities and grounds. 
  • Organized and self-motivated.
  • Performs maintenance which may include roofing, painting, lawn care, floor care and minor electrical and plumbing repairs. 
  • Perform snow removal on Ophir properties and assist district wide. Snow plow experience preferred.
  • Supports other site maintenance staff for completing site maintenance activities. 
  • Specific ability-based competencies include: adapting to changing work priorities; meeting deadlines and schedules, working as part of a team; working with constant interruptions, decision making; mechanical aptitude, ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs; reliability; and working flexible hours. Ability to problem solve, and work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Will work under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor 
     

Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be 18 years or older to apply. 
  • Current Utah Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Required to pass a background check.
  • Job related experience is desired. 
  • Specific skill-based competencies include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical, snow removal, lawn care, cleaning facilities with commercial cleaning equipment, common tools, etc., adhering to safety practices.  Will need to follow TCSD policy's on handling hazardous materials.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical demands include: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and fine finger dexterity.
  • Working outside in all weather conditions.
