SUPERVISOR FOR ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EQUITY
 
FLSA Status: Exempt
Grade: 4, Administrative Salary Schedule

Location: Central Office
 
JOB SUMMARY
This position, through collaborative work with members of the Senior Leadership Team, provides leadership and oversight of developing the organization through design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that support professional development and continuous learning for all WJCC staff members. This position also provides leadership and oversight of an ongoing, division-wide initiative to address equity issues in all WJCC programing.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate professional learning (PL) that is aligned to division priorities for all categories of employees.
  • Develop and implement a new teacher induction program, inclusive of orientation activities
  • Coordinate and enhance the new teacher mentoring program
  • Coordinate, in collaboration with the senior leadership team, professional learning for new assistant principals relative to roles and responsibilities, WJCC practices and procedures.
  • Convene the division Professional Learning Planning Committee to coordinate division-wide learning opportunities
  • Design mechanisms for feedback from stakeholders regarding professional learning for all categories of employees
  • Assist with coordination of division leadership events such as Leadership & Learning and the annual Leadership Institute
  • Co-lead Strategic Plan Goal 2 (Educational Equity) working groups to ensure progress in equity strategies prioritized in the strategic plan
  • Collaboratively develop formal presentations showcasing the work and progress of WJCC Strategic Plan Goal 2 (Educational Equity)
  • Design, lead and collaborate with other departments to develop ongoing professional development that builds the capacity of instructional staff to use culturally responsive practices that support and enhance student learning
  • Review existing policies and practices through an equity lens and work with senior staff and the superintendent to recommend revisions for school board consideration
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, principals, and department leaders to recruit and retain high quality employees, including a focus on increased diversity of the workforce
  • Lead and develop school-based Multicultural Engagement Advocates to support school-based practices that address the instructional and social and emotional needs of the diverse student population
  • Model the WJCC Strategic Plan Values: Individualism, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Collaboration

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
  • Master’s Degree in education or related field and an Administration and Supervision PreK-12 endorsement.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a school administration/leadership position.
  • A minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching or equivalent experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and methodologies of adult learning and experience sharing that knowledge with colleagues through formal and informal professional learning activities.
  • Ability to deliver and articulate oral presentations and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of staff members, teachers, and administrators to improve established practices.
  • Visionary and strategic in thinking, as well as tactical in executing strategies.
  • Consistently proven ability to manage/implement projects; demonstrated competencies in the areas of leadership and people development, change management, organizational development, total quality and project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in organizing and supervising the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with division. leadership, employees, families, students, and community.
  • High tolerance for change and ability to work on several projects and assignments concurrently. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and skill in budget development and management.
  • Demonstrated background in talent management.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality initiatives and strategic planning.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Performs duties under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Duties are normally performed in an office environment. Frequent contact with staff.  Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
