Description

We are a pre-school through 8th grade Catholic school serving Tooele County.. Our mission is to provide a safe and inclusive environment where students can develop socially, excel academically, and grow spiritually. We are seeking a 4 / 5 Grade Classroom Teacher to join our team. Your role will be to teach core subjects in a multi-age classroom (following the Diocesan Standards), using a variety of instructional strategies and techniques. You will assess, record and communicate student progress, communicate effectively with parents and staff, participate actively in the life of the school, serve on committees and engage in a variety of professional development opportunities. Additionally, you will need to be plan and prepare lessons, present classes clearly and effectively, provide for individual differences, maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning, and know and use technology appropriately. Aside from teaching, you will supervise your class throughout the day (during lunch & recess) and will be available to meet with parents as needed.. As an employee at St. Marguerite Catholic School you will join a team of committed teachers and staff who partner with parents to ensure student success. Together, we help students gain a sense of integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect of others. You will work cooperatively with administration, work positively with colleagues, support staff, and parish staff, and maintain positive interpersonal relations with students and parents. You will have the support of your co-workers, our Pasteur, and the principal.

Other Professional Responsibilities:

· Maintain a professional manner in the classroom and other related setting.

· Demonstrate a sense of professional responsibility and leadership.

· Report any knowledge or suspicion of child abuse as required by law.

· Accepts, willing, extra assignments and supervisions.

· Attend required faculty meetings, in-services, and other meetings unless excused by the principal. 3

· Is responsible for the care and use of instructional materials, equipment and school facilities.

· Reviews emergency procedures and practices with students regularly.

· Provides necessary documentation for personnel file.

· Follows directives regarding collection of monies.

· Supports and implements diocesan policies.

· Keeps abreast of developments in curriculum and methodology.

· Completes necessary work toward obtaining and/or maintaining a valid license.
