Description
1. Collaborate with parents/guardians, administrators, teachers, testing specialists, counselors, and other professionals to develop IEPs designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social development and resolve students’ behavioral and academic concerns. 2. Maintain accurate and complete student records to stay in compliance as required by federal regulations, Utah State SpEd laws, and Lakeview Academy policies including Individualized Education Plans, progress reports, and prepare reports on children and activities. 3. Provide effective instruction in academic, vocational, behavioral, and self-help areas through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, activities, one-on-one, and small groups as appropriate for specific IEP goals/objectives. 4. Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine students' strengths and areas of need. 5. Modify the general education curriculum and prepare materials and activities for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies. 6. Help monitor general education teachers and special education teacher paraeducators to ensure that they adhere to special education program requirements, administer agreed upon program accommodations, follow identified IEP strategies, and maintain confidentiality as it relates to personally identifiable student information 7. Develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of students with a variety of disabling conditions many of whom have significant disabilities.
