Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Counselor/Guidance, Social Worker.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

General Duties Work with administration, teachers, school social worker, and students.
Student Assessment / Data Collection • Behavioral and academic classroom observations • Scoring behavioral and academic classroom observations • Collecting and interpreting data on IEP goals • Meeting with parents of students • Do preparation work to administer mental health assessments • Administering mental health assessments (i.e. BASC-3) • Multi-Tiered Supports with students
Meeting with Students • Trauma-informed Care • Conduct individual and group sessions with students • Crisis intervention with students
Collaboration / Meetings • Attend IEP/504 meetings with students • Speaking with teachers regarding problematic situations in their classroom involving students • Collaborate with relevant school personnel to discuss how to support student success • Discuss students who have an IEP, or who have a potential to have an IEP, with the Special Education Director • Correspond with teachers and parents (via telephone, in person, or email) • Collaborate with community professionals regarding students (i.e. a student’s therapist)
Documentation • Document visits with students, teachers, parents, etc. • Document progress on the students IEP goals • Write reports
Other duties • Professional development (i.e. attending conferences, trainings, etc.) • Conduct trainings to school staff on mental health
