POSITION SUMMARY:  Madison County Public Schools is seeking a Marketing Teacher for Madison County High School within the Career and Technical Education Department. The successful applicant should possess intellectual depth and breadth, a strong work ethic, a capacity for communication and leadership, noteworthy teaching and leadership experience, an appreciation of innovative practice, and a track record of proven achievement. The candidate must also possess the capacity to inspire the school community through visualizing new possibilities for a global education in an environment of innovation, collaboration, and mutual respect.  This person will create an academic environment that will motivate students at different levels of learning and has the ability to make learning student-centered while incorporating technology-based resources to accelerate student achievement.   
 
REQUIRED:

  • A Collegiate or Postgraduate Professional License or eligible for a Virginia license with a Marketing Endorsement.
  • Must have considerable experience creating an academic environment that will motivate students at different levels of learning and the ability to make learning student-centered.  
  • Must be able to analyze and evaluate students’ classwork, papers and assignments and provide developmentally appropriate feedback.  
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain high standards for self and students and present instruction in an interesting, creative, and innovative manner.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate expertise in the field of Marketing
  • Oversee a Career and Technical Student Organization (DECA)
  • Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders
  • Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students within the district utilizing a simulated workplace model.
  • Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives.
  • Design a daily lesson plan describing daily learning experiences - the plan is to be correlated with the CTE State Standards.
  • Monitors and assesses student progress in order to provide feedback on a regular basis to students and their parents.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior.
  • Develops and implements reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner.
  • Promotes and follows the adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations and administrative procedures.
  • Communicates concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents and community in a positive, professional and ethical manner.
  • Assumes legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school sponsored activities.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Assumes individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments.
  • Maintains punctual and regular attendance.
SALARY RANGE: $47,500 - $70,300; 10 month/200-day Teacher contract
