Job Title: SPED Outreach Coach
Classification (FLSA Status): Non Exempt
Lane/Salary Grade: 5
Location: Iron Online Education Programs
General Function:
The Outreach Coach is responsible for the mentoring of students and many of the logistical operations of online programs. The Outreach Coach will work with other outreach coaches, teachers, school counselors, administrators, and secretarial staff.

Summary and Overall Objective:
The Outreach Coach will perform duties to serve and support online students for the Iron County School District. Applicants must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Online Director, School Counselor, Teachers, and Secretaries to establish processes
Monitor student attendance, establish student success plans and track students’ progress
Build trusting relationships with students to uncover barriers and challenges that are impacting their success in an online environment
Find creative solutions and connect students with resources (academic, social, emotional, etc.)
Conduct regular one on one meetings with assigned students and their parents
Collaborate with and engage parents/guardians through phone calls, meetings, and home visits
Provide tutoring and other support with school work (k-12)
Collaborate with online school staff and providers
Other duties as needed
Competencies (Knowledge, skills, abilities):
Demonstrated ability to organize and work effectively with other people.
Technical understanding of software, web application, and database management.
Technical understanding of hardware, including Chromebooks, Macs and their operating systems.
Technical understanding of Wireless technology.
Familiarity with a broad spectrum of educational software.
Demonstrated ability to set and meet timelines.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English at a level required for successful job performance.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before parents, students, and groups of employees of the school district.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out essential duties of this position.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems involving concrete variables situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Associates degree or 48 college semester hours (72 quarter credits) from a college or university; 48 hours on a certified transcript from a technical school or passing results (460) on the ETS ParaProfessional Assessment
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education, work in a school setting, or equivalent combination of both significant education and related experience.
Job Related Experience:
Knowledge and experience of LMS, specifically Canvas or Spark LMS.
Knowledge and experience with other educational software
Knowledge and experience with Zoom and WebX and other virtual meeting systems
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Hold and maintain a valid Utah driver’s license.
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Expected Work Hours:
Up to 27.5 hour work week on school days, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM & 12:30 PM to 3 PM
Travel Requirements: Some travel within the state will be required.
Terms of Employment:
Part-time up to 27.5 hour/weeks 180 day Contract
