JOB SUMMARY
This position provides a wide variety of routine clerical functions and receptionist duties for the Human Resources Department using clerical and basic computer skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs general clerical and public relations tasks in the Human Resources Department.
- Receives telephone calls and visitors to Human Resources Department. Involves contact with applicants, division employees and outside agencies.
- Acts as receptionist receiving visitors and answering telephones.
- Maintains personnel files and records.
- Acts as Central Office receptionist for lunch coverage and other coverage as needed.
- Delivers and picks up mail from the mail room.
- Schedules appointments for applicants as requested.
- Makes copies as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of reports, records, correspondence, and communications when required to handle such materials.
- Maintain a pleasant attitude, being tactful and courteous toward co-workers, applicants and visitors.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and some previous office experience.
- Proficiency in use of word processing software and initiative to learn other computer programs as required.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment.
- Exhibits use of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to converse with members of the general public in a pleasant and effective manner.
- Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Reports to the Senior Director for Human Resources.
