Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of the IEP Committee process at assigned campuses. Work cooperatively with administration, parents, students, and instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate instructional programs for students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. Major Responsibilities and Duties: • Work collaboratively with administration to ensure ongoing child find efforts including but not limited to review of general education records and requesting special education records according to specific timelines and best practices. • Collaborate with evaluation staff to ensure Full and Individual Evaluations / Review of Existing Data (RED) ensuring that all timeline requirements are met. • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, and administrators to support special education accommodations and services to special needs learners, including modeling and coaching. • Support the development and implementation of transition services for special education students as determined by the IEP. • Seek assistance and collaborate with leadership as needed. • Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, teachers, and administrators. • Recommend and support implementation of sound policies and procedures to improve program by following the appropriate chain of communication, based on the situation. • Effectively monitor student progress, communicate that progress with parents, and provide intervention for the student and/or coaching for teachers when progress is not made. • Responsible for collaborating with campus administration and counselors on scheduling credits as reflected on the student’s transcripts.
