Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience in Technology or related field.
  2. 5 or more years experience in managing LAN and WAN implementations.
  3. Previous experience in an educational setting preferred.
  4. Experience with Windows Server Technology.
  5. Must have strong understanding and experience with Technology ethics and practices
  6. Must be proficient in the creation and maintenance of networks and scripting
  7. Ability to maintain confidential information and support the highest level of staff expectation.
  8. CCNA certification or equivalent industry certification preferred.
  9. CCDA certification or equivalent industry certification preferred.
  10. MSCE Certification preferred.
  11. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Executive Director of Business Services
 

Essential Duties:

The Network IT Supervisor is responsible for developing, planning and managing all aspects of the information technology, including the telephone systems, computing resources and related training for the entire school district.
 
Responsible for day to day oversight and development of the following functions:
 
  • Technology strategic planning
  • Telephone network
  • Computer network (WAN, LAN)
  • Security systems
  • Desktop systems and support
  • Web Site directory and server support
  • Software applications support
  • Firewall security systems
  • Manage back-up and data storage
 
 
Coordinates and maintains the development of the district’s wide area and local area networks to ensure the availability for appropriate technological resources for students and staff.
 
Performs equipment installations and relocations as required to support the business needs of the District, including student data and SAIS reporting.
 
Establishes the appropriate level of security to ensure protection of computing resources and district data.
 
Maintains relationships with district hardware and software vendors while adhering to Arizona School District Procurement regulations.
 
Provides leadership in the design, implementation and maintenance of efficient and integrated technology systems that support the district’s Technology plan.
 
Prepares documentation for network hardware and software systems (including licensing).
 
Prepares budget recommendations for the acquisition and support of district technology infrastructure, including bandwidth, hardware and software.
 
Establishes and implements industry-standard back-up procedures for district data.
 
Works cooperatively with the Executive Director of Business to fulfill requirements in planning, application and implementation of E-Rate finding on an annual basis. Researches and works toward alternative funding resources including other technology grants.
 
Responsible for establishing and coordinating the District’s Technology Plan and Technology Committee.
 
Follows all Governing Board Policies specifically regarding technology implementation and user policies.

Qualifications:
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position requires extensive knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Candidate must have experience with Windows XP; Outlook Exchange servers; Microsoft Office applications; LAN/WAN support including installation of PC hardware and software; routers, hubs and modems; LAN/WAN configuration; network systems; server-to-server communications and T1 carrier services.

Terms of Employment

12 Months/Salary established by the Governing Board on the Classified Salary Schedule.
