DEFINITION: Under the direction of Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, the ATS Coordinator provides services to students enrolled in the Sunnyside Unified School District.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches and supports students assigned to ATS program their current digital curriculum.
Implements behavior assessment and instruction related to issues resulting in out of school suspension including counseling and goal setting
Monitors and tracks student attendance; works with counselor to reach out to students who are not attending school
Runs daily community service and leadership training. Help students understand why they are doing community service, how leadership can empower them, and helps the student to feel more connected to their school and community.
Works with home site to transition student back to their regular school after suspension is over.
Does daily reflection with students on their behavior and academic goals
Works with counselor and Community Development Model team, to identify resources and disseminate them to students.
Works with community agencies to provide drug counseling and resources to students.
Reports student behavior, progress, and goals to students’ home school
Help student with goal setting behaviorally, emotionally, and academically for the remainder of the school year
Reports any concerns to home site administration/counselors prior to student returning to their home site
Meets with parents monthly to review student progress and or concerns
Works with district office, home site, student, and family on application process to determine proper fit for the program
Tracks data of students entering and exiting ATS program
Evaluates ATS Staff
Use intervention strategies prior to discipline when appropriate
Works with district school safety team and law enforcement as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of District policy and procedures
Skill in analyzing and interpreting data.
General knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong group facilitation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with administration, school staff, and other relevant groups or individuals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor; and lifting.
Valid Arizona Secondary 6-12 Teaching Certificate
Valid Arizona Administrator Certificate
Experience working with high risk students
Experience working with community agencies and families
Salary: Refer to PNT Salary Schedule Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 211 Start Date: 2022/2023 School Year
