Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and gratifying employment opportunity in the new Early Childhood Division of the School for the Blind. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Specialist for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This position can be based out of Ogden or Salt Lake City, however, statewide travel may be required.

Principal Duties: Early Childhood Specialist job duties include: -Provide support to the Director of the Early Childhood Division. Some overnight travel required. -Attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings in the districts, traveling to various school locations as necessary throughout Utah, through Zoom and on USDB campuses. -Run/manage IEP meetings in an administrative capacity with full authority to provide approval and commit USDB resources to IEP. -Create and maintain program files and data as directed. -Assist in compliance indicators for Utah Program Improvement Supports and Activities (UPIPS). -Assist in teacher evaluations and educational service paraprofessional evaluations as requested. -Assist in division innovations and practices. -Attend collaboration and organizational meetings including State organizations (BabyWatch, El Consortium, etc.) for Part C and Part B functions as requested by the Director. -Assist in blind specific personalized learning instruction, strategies, reporting and implementation in Part C and Part B. -Assist with the expansion of a strong TSVI Mentoring Program. Serve as a member in Part C and Part B as needed. -Attend and provide support to camps and activities for Part C and Part B when needed. -Assist in annual report compilation, including student data and reporting statistics. -Collect and analyze assessment and progress data as requested by the director. -Assist in overseeing professional development for teachers and staff. -Travel statewide may be required. -Other duties as assigned.
