Grade 9-12 Fine Arts Teacher - Part-Time - Interim

Effective August 1, 2022

The teacher is responsible for providing educational support to students and colleagues so that students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. The teacher will provide live support online support to students working through their course work, and will organize and implement an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with Bradley County Schools and State of Tennessee Department of Education policies and laws.

*Student and parent conferencing skills
*Research-based exemplary practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
*Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders using written and oral form, including electronic media, with positive interpersonal skills
*Knowledge of curriculum and instruction in online learning platform
*Understand and demonstrate operational knowledge of the Internet and Web-related technologies
*Ability to establish and maintain a positive cooperative working relationship with the students, parents, and school
*Demonstrate effective data-based problem solving skills
REPORTS TO: Principal
*Adjunct faculty members must maintain virtual office hours and be available to students via telephone or online a minimum of one hour per day Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am to 8:00pm EST. One hour per week will be live zoom targeted sessions.
*Use the "Lesson Mastery" to determine areas of need to prepare for weekly zoom targeted sessions.
*Adjunct faculty will ensure in-person events are staffed, either by volunteers or through a rotation.
*Adjunct faculty members will keep a log of time expended on instruction including but not limited to live zoom targeted sessions.
*Adjunct faculty must document all student and parent communications.
*Daily monitoring and grading of all student work within a 24-hour period during scheduled school days.
*Daily communication to make and/or respond to phone calls, text messages, emails, etc. within a 24-hour period during scheduled school days.
*Monitor attendance, send a message to the student and/or parent who is behind in their progress and/or grades and encourage them to move forward when they are 2-3% behind. Send a message to the principal of all students who are 3% behind.
*Monthly phone calls with parents (and students) of advisory students.
*Adjunct faculty attendance is expected at all scheduled faculty meetings either via distance technology or face-to-face as directed by the principal. Adjunct faculty will be notified in advance of all required meetings.
*The adjunct faculty member agrees to participate in all training and use of online delivery systems employed by Bradley County Virtual School.
*Adjunct faculty will prepare and facilitate parent-teacher conferences a minimum of twice per school year.
The adjunct faculty will complete all responsibilities on time to *fulfill all state testing requirements.
*Adjunct faculty prepare all students for any mandated tests to include ACT, TCAP, EOCs, as applicable.
*Adjunct faculty members perform other duties as assigned.
*Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
*Valid Tennessee Educator License in the appropriate subject
