Paraeducator Special Education
Real Academy High School is a charter school that opened in the fall of 2017. This charter school serves grades 9-12 and is located in the Real Salt Lake training center in Herriman Utah. Real Academy High School blends state-of-the-art learning tools, 1:1 technology, sports education, and meaningful relationships with staff to build a unique high school.
Real Academy is designed for sports-minded students who love academic performance. We strive to excel in both these areas and have seen excellent growth performance in both sports and academics over the last 4 years. We have 400-450 students who attend our school with possibly one of the most diverse ethnic, academic, and economic student bodies in Utah. We believe those who look into our school will find it to truly be one of the most unique schools in the state.
Real Academy High School is looking for a paraeducator who wants to be a part of transforming this school's unique academic and sports-centered vision into a reality for our students. We are seeking to hire a paraeducator who wants to advance their own skills and education in order to keep up with the needs of the 21st-century learner. This position would be ideal for someone who has a love for collaboration, enjoys building relationships with co-workers, and demonstrates a positive coaching/mentoring attitude towards students.
Salaries for this position will be competitive with local salaries and based upon education and experience. A full benefits package will be offered as a part of the paraeducator's compensation. Duties that may be required would include, but not be limited to: push-in support for core classes, implementation of individual interventions, progress monitoring of intervention or classroom data, parent communication, communication with faculty on collaborating on curriculum adaptations, and positive behavior management of students. Strong math skills are preferred for this position. The paraeducator will also assist the Special Education Director in completing daily tasks related to the special education program.
The position hours will be from 8:30-3:30 Monday through Thursday with rotating in-person support on Fridays. On the Fridays where the paraeducator is not in the builiding, they are required to monitor emails and provide support remotely as needed.
