Description
TITLE: MAINTENANCE SITE WORKER
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or GED, and at least five years custodial or
maintenance experience, preferably in a school setting, or any equivalent
combination of experience and/or education from which comparable
knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL/MAINTENANCE FOREMAN
Job Summary: This person is responsible for the day to day maintenance and cleanliness
of buildings at the assigned school site. In addition, performs general
maintenance on plumbing, electrical, building and general maintenance
of campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (generally include the following:)
- Disconnect, remove, repair/rebuild, and replace equipment and facilities.
- Diagnose problems and provide remedies.
- Work on specialized equipment as necessary, for example: electrical, telephone, plumbing, cooling/heating, electronics, etc.
- Open campus and perform daily safety check.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks which can easily be completed by one person, for example replace bulbs, install/repair pencil sharpeners, adjust drinking fountains.
- Inspects school buildings and grounds on a daily basis for needed attention and/or repairs.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Principal on a timely and efficient basis.
- Establishes and prioritizes maintenance repairs.
- Process work orders, maintains supply inventory and recommends purchase of tools and equipment, as well as regularly used items.
- Strives to promote the safety, health, and comfort of students, teachers, and staff.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity: lift items up to 50 lbs; push items up to 120 lbs. Ability to climb ladders and work from heights and within confined spaces.
- Demonstrate knowledge of shut-off for all major mechanical systems.
- Available for emergency calls
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively.
- Possess current Arizona driver's license, and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to withstand exposure to outdoor temperatures and various grasses, pollens, cleaning compounds, insecticides, etc.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, school personnel, and the public.
- Must be able to pass fingerprint and background clearance checks as a condition of employment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months, Full-Time
EVALUATION: At least annually by the Principal/Maintenance Foreman
