Position: Technology Trainer /Digital Content Creator

Job Type: Full-time 

Contract: 260 days 

Salary Scale: Commensurate with Experience 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Reports To: Executive Director of Technology

General Definition of Work

New Kent County Public Schools is currently seeking a skilled Technology Trainer/Digital Content Creator to undertake tasks of Web Content Creation and Maintenance and Technology/PowerSchool Training for stakeholders and end users.

The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with great passion for technology. 

The top candidate will also be a strong team player, able to collaborate with others to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Essential Functions

• Create and provide training guides, help documents, videos, and supplemental materials for functional areas within PowerSchool (Registration, Attendance, Scheduling, Discipline, etc.)

• Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs

• Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc. 

• Maintain a general understanding of the business rules associated with the Student Information System and work with stakeholders/ process owners to ensure business rules or reporting requirements have not changed.

• Creates monitoring strategies to ensure that employees are performing job duties according to training.

• Write, edit, and publish content for websites, blogs, videos, social media posts/campaigns, email campaigns and ensure content remains relevant, timely, and accurate.

• Develop and maintain consistent branding across digital platforms and develop a unique tone that properly represents the vision of the school division

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

• Strong time management skills as well as be an effective multi-tasker.

• Experience designing and delivering instructional materials and help documents 

• Experience as a content creator creating strong and engaging content

• Experience in HTML and web publishing is preferred

• Capable of delivering presentations and leading group projects in front of an audience

• Graphic design experience and the ability to create and edit images and logos

• Ability to work independently

• Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills

• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills

• Aptitude for customer support

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, or other related field preferred OR a valid combination of relevant work experience, training and industry certifications.
