POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Reading Interventionist Teacher (Grant Funded)
Reports To: Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Develops and implements reading lessons to meet the individual needs of students needing
intervention strategies.
2. Maintains accurate progress monitoring data.
3. Works one-on-one or in small groups with students.
4. Communicates results of interventions to teachers, and administrators.
5. Participates in grade level and school-wide analysis of progress of students in Tier II
and Tier III, serving on Student Support Team, if requested.
6. Participates in professional development workshops, provided by the division or as
requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the subject area
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten-month employment. Salary to be determined by School Board. Grant Funded
EVALUATION
Performance of the position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Prince Edward County School Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
