Job Description
TITLE: School Nurse for Summer Academy K-8 Programs
This position is _X_ exempt or ___non-exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for performing professional health services duties required in the school setting for the K-8 Summer Academy program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- Licensed registered nurse preferred
- Certification in CPR
- Demonstrate a willingness to work with all students
- Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity and oral and written communication skills required to perform all performance responsibilities (able to lift 50 pounds unassisted)
- Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records
- Ability to prepare required written reports
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Possess knowledge and skills to operate computer system
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as health consultant to pupils, parents, teachers, and other school personnel
- Makes record of findings and interprets findings to pupils, teachers, and parents
- Provides first-aid services
- Discusses individual physical problems with pupils, parents, and teachers
- Maintains daily log of student visits to the clinic
- Responsible for securing and dispensing medication to students
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Summer Academy Coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- July 6 - August 4, 2022 (Monday - Thursday only)
- 1 hour orientation on June 27, 2022
- 8:00 am - 12:30pm
- $37 per hour

Summer Academy Coordinator
EVALUATION: Evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.
