TITLE: Family and Community Program Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To provide programs and services to increase family involvement and to ensure parents, families, and members of the community have access to: information, resources, parenting skill development, parent education and referrals to third party services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Ability to collaborate with staff and create system processes
Bilingual in the English and Spanish, preferred
Effective mentoring and facilitation skills
Basic record-keeping techniques for grant funded programs
Experience in providing professional development to large groups
Excellent oral and written communication skills, bilingual preferred
Experience with diverse populations (English Language Learners, students with disabilities, etc.)
Proficient computer skills
Grant writing experience, preferred
Operational budget experience, preferred
Effective staff management and performance assessment skills
Knowledge of child growth and developmental issues for families
Knowledge of community-based resources; including First Things First supported programs
Experience tracking program outcomes for grant objectives
Experience in assessing and identifying needs for children and families
EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION
Valid Arizona Administrative Certificate, preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Family Studies, and Education
Master’s Degree in related field, preferred
Possess a minimum of 2 years of successful experience in program management and overseeing programs serving families
Evidence of successful leadership ability
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:
Oversee the operations of the Heart Of Isaac (HOI) Community Center
Develop and organize early childhood education workshops, partnerships, and provide access / opportunities for families to increase support for children ages birth to five
Support and implement school readiness and Preschool transition programs / strategies
Assist in the hiring, training, supervision and support of HOI and Isaac School District (ISD) Parent Education staff
Coordinate, develop, and design culturally responsive classes for families in reading, math, and other curricula to assist them in working with their children
Collaborate with school principals regarding strategies to enhance family involvement
Facilitate professional learning for school staff relating to family involvement and engagement
Coordinate delivery of evidence-based curriculum training to families
Develop and coordinate community partnerships
Develop and coordinate program services with school site leadership teams
Coordinate distribution of information regarding family meetings, workshops, and community services, as provided by the District, Federal Programs, and school sites
Plan, implement and evaluate training and culturally responsive workshops to help parents and families participate more effectively in improving their children’s learning.
Assist in coordination of all Title I, 21st Century, and site-based parental involvement activities (i.e., FEAT); including data collection and tracking outcomes for grant objectives
Assist with family recruitment and family involvement efforts / activities
Serve as outreach liaison between school, families, community and District
Collaborate with teachers, coaches, interventionists, and other staff to provide family education and training relevant to student learning, academic goals, and social and emotional development
Perform additional duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month
