Description
The Intermediate School Assistant Principal is responsible for overseeing the daily programming and staffing for students in 9th Grade through Retained Seniors in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations mandated for students in general education and with disabilities.
Serves as the support to the Principal of the Intermediate School school in developing and implementing programs and activities that promote the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member. Assists to ensure that all requirements of special education regulations are implemented in direct alignment with LEA, state, and federal requirements and regulations.
*****Assists with student behavior, school-wide multi-tiered systems of support for behavior, responsive procedures, restorative practices, behavior intervention plan oversight, and analysis of school discipline data.*****
Assists in the development and establishing of the school goals and objectives and the planning of the schools instructional program. Assists to provide direction to staff in implementing goals and objectives and interacts and meets with staff to assist in their development. Assists in the evaluation of the school program and of staff and assists to initiate needed improvements. Assists to define and disseminate information about school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community. Communicates and carries out established policies, delegates and accepts responsibility for completion of tasks and communicates program goals, objectives, and policies to the community. Assists in supervising and maintaining auxiliary services and uses community resources to supplement the school program. Promotes and maintains open communications, positive student attitudes, respect dignity, worth of staff, students, and complies with established lines of authority. Assists in the completion of records and reports and in the supervision and inventory of necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment, and materials. Any other duties as assigned by the Academic Director.
