Teacher - HS Music
Description The Music Teacher is responsible for providing choir, music appreciation, piano, and guitar instruction in High School that meets state and federal regulations. Essential Functions 1. Provide daily instruction in music education in alignment with identified teaching standards. 2. Collect music education program data to evaluate student progress. Share data with the school team and parents. 3. Consult and collaborate with team members and paraprofessionals, to schedule services and to modify student’s program. 4. Maintain a current special education inventory of music materials, supplies, and equipment. 5. Supervise, teach and monitor student teachers, peer tutors and other staff assigned to assist with programming. 6. Assure confidentiality of all students’ information. 7. Participate in family educational opportunities, including but not limited to Parent Empowerment Nights, and provide a winter concert program for parents. 8. Conduct student education and outreach opportunities, including assemblies and/or classroom instruction. 9. Adhere to and supports Board policy, School guidelines, and administrative rules and directives. 10. Maintain accurate case records and documentation for any students covered by IDEA [IEPs/504s] 11. Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations and abides by said laws and regulations with emphasis on persons with disabilities, child welfare, mental health, confidentiality, and student and parent rights. 12. Participate in in-service activities, staff meetings, collaborative teacher teams, etc. promoted by the School. 13. Perform other duties as assigned by the School Administration.
