Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: To provide instructional leadership for the school staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive secondary educational programs, and to administrate the programs in accordance with division goals, school board policies, administrative rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure
Required: Virginia Postgraduate Professional License (Administration and Supervision) or eligible to possess a certificate
Education
Required: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field
Experience
Required: Has a minimum of three successful years as a school-based administrator
Has a minimum of three to five successful years teaching; secondary preferred
Skills & Knowledge
Required: Exceptional leadership qualities and interpersonal skills necessary for working effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other members of the community; strong conceptual skills and problem-solving capabilities; knowledgeable of strategic planning and school improvement; ability to develop and effectively present ideas orally and in written form.

- Serves as an instructional leader with knowledge of secondary curriculum

- Effectively facilitates the learning of teachers in implementation of best practices to meet the needs of all learners

- Exceptional ability to promote collaboration and to effectively supports high-functioning professional learning communities
- Demonstrates ability to use highly effective disciplinary strategies with secondary students in a student-centered atmosphere that values safety
- Demonstrates exceptional ability to serve a diverse population of students requiring differentiated instruction
- Demonstrates exceptional skills in the decision-making process
- Highly effective in motivating and promoting a positive school climate
- Demonstrates organizational skills to serve as a highly effective instructional leader
- Fosters active community involvement and parental support in the teaching and learning process

SALARY RANGE: $111,485.00 - $147,201.00
