COVID-19 Screening Program District Coordinator

 

Job Description

 

Summary- Supports the school as liaison, public health authority, and point of contact for COVID-19 related concerns.

 

CLASSIFICATION: ESSER III 2 yr. funded position

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ü Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical environment preferred

ü Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators.

ü Current RN License or certification issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing and BSN degree or equivalent preferred.

ü Clinical nursing practice in maternal child health or related clinical preferred.

ü Current CPR certificate.

ü Experience in educational setting preferred.

 

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent

 

JOB OVERVIEW: Successful candidate will use his/her skills to Serves as a liaison to the local public health authority, superintendent, and school board. Candidate will reports any confirmed Covid-19 cases in schools to local public health authorities. Candidate will update protocols, procedures, and school resources based on new or revised guidance from the CDC and/or local public health authority

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: (THE LIST OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY BE SUPPLEMENTED.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Program Coordinator:

 

· Serves as a liaison to the local public health authority, superintendent, and school board

· Reports any confirmed Covid-19 cases in schools to local public health authority per local requirements

· Maintains and updates school case and close contact list (example here) for the district

· Distributes protocols, procedures, and resources to school Covid-19 coordinators based upon most recent public health guidance

· Updates protocols, procedures, and school resources based on new or revised guidance from the CDC and/or local public health authority

· Serves as the point of contact for questions and information for the community at-large as well as related stakeholders/school district partners

· Works with local government to procure government allocated testing supplies and/or funding

· Works with the district superintendent and school board to determine what parts of a testing program require school board approval and where waivers can be granted to district policies such as some purchasing requirements that could slow down implementation

· Builds a diverse testing committee to oversee school testing strategy and set key performance indicators to measure success

· Manages internal and external communications regarding outbreak status of the school

· Makes notifications about exposures

· Coordinates collecting parental consent

· Manages master student parental consent list

· Serves as primary point of contact to answer questions and provide information for staff, students, and families

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

ü Sit or stand for long periods of time

ü Speak, hear, see, stand and walk

ü Stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead

ü Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

ü Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment

ü Ability to actively perform work in school building settings.

ü Must be able to follow all safety protocols related to PPE and testing potentially infected individuals.

ü Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (typically involving frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting).

 

 

EVALUATION: In accordance with the governing board and appropriate procedural regulations. The site administrator will be responsible for completing the evaluation.

 

SALARY RANGE: Salary commensurate with experience. Salary is established by the Superintendent.

 

BENEFITS: This position includes health insurance and retirement benefits.
