Must hold a license issued by any agency.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the school principal, plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community. Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations. -Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school. -Assigns lessons and corrects homework. -Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress. -Keeps attendance records. -Maintains discipline in the classroom. -Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems. -Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. -Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems. -Complies with school and school board policies and regulations. -Demonstrates professional growth. -Prompt and accurate with required records and reports. -Uses instructional and planning time effectively. -Assumes responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities. -Assumes responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students committed to his/her care. -Demonstrates knowledge of the subject being taught. -Uses out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support the instructional objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: -Instructors are responsible for planning, teaching, directing, and supervising the Army JROTC program in accordance with the policies, regulations, and directives of the Henry County Schools and the Department of the Army Cadet Command. -Prepares the weekly training scheduled IAW the approved Master Training Schedule. -Prepares lesson plans and training materials for JROTC instruction IAW the Master Training Schedule and appropriate directives. -Development of the procedures governing the administration, control, and training of JROTC cadets IAW school and service policies. -Conduct classroom, field and range training to ensure that adequate, safe and meaningful instruction is being conducted in compliance with school and service regulations and policies. -Plan, coordinate, and conduct an annual inspection. A Formal Inspection will be conducted by the 4th ROTC Brigade every 3 years. -Requisition and maintain accountability for the U.S. Government property that is needed to support a JROTC program. -Participate in the supervision of after-school activities which include, but not limited to, the drill team, Raider team, color guard, rifle team, adventure training group, and battalion staff.
