Assistant Principal, under the direction of the Principal, will provide leadership and supervision in administering the vision and mission of Freedom Preparatory Academy’s model in a secondary school to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations and applicable law. All candidates must have, or are in the process of earning, a master’s degree in an education related field, classroom teaching experience, and demonstrated leadership experience in the school setting. Assistant Principal responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to: • Promote a collaborative team culture among all staff with the focus of accomplishing the mission and vision of the school. • Participate in the development and evaluation of campus educational programs including school improvement plans and accreditation efforts. • Work cooperatively with campus principal and staff to collectively identify and implement teacher professional development. • Work cooperatively with campus principal to supervise the Freedom Prep professional growth plan. Supervises school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of the school. • Work directly with student groups to promote leadership and service. • Assist in student fundraising projects. • Work with principal to assist and supervise after school extracurricular activities. • Participate in the Parent Council as needed. As well as work to with all parents to build a collaborative culture. • Administrative team to manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student discipline, safety, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, and state polices and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations.
