Special Education Teacher- ASP
Must hold a certificate issued by Arizona State Department of Education.
The certificate must be in Mild/Moderate Disabilities Certificate; K-12.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General).
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
This regular, full-time teaching position for the 2021-2022 school year is at Kingman Unified School District's Mt. Tipton School in Dolan Springs, AZ. Individuals pursuing a teaching career through this alternative pathway must enroll in a teacher preparation program approved by the Arizona Department of Education and obtain an Alternative Teaching Certificate to be eligible for hire.
Salary and Benefits
The 2021-2022 salary range for teachers is $37,075-$48,975. In addition to base salary, teachers are eligible to earn approximately $6,000-$8,000 in 301 money.
Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in special education will receive a one-time $5,000 stipend, pending appropriate teaching certification. Special education teachers are also eligible for an additional case management stipend of up to $4,000.

Kingman is located in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Valley between the Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain ranges. Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon. KUSD’s 2021-2022 school year for students will begin on July 21, 2021 and end on May 25, 2022.
