Digital Media Specialist Job Description
Job Title: Digital Media Specialist
Credentials: None required for this position.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, creative media or related field required.
Training or experience required: At least three years experience working in digital media production, social media coordination or related field. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, best practices, analytics and content creation. Skilled in video production, photography, graphic design.
Site: Administrative Services Center, possibility of remote or work from home.
Reports to: Executive Director of Communications, Public Relations and Public Information
Contract: 260 (PART-TIME)
Salary Schedule: Support off-scale. Commensurate with experience
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with communications staff, school principals, district administrators and staff to seek out positive stories from across the district and develop and execute creative, consistent and engaging content delivery strategy for all platforms.
Production of innovative and creative video content that supports district communications campaigns and initiatives.
Photography of school and district events for use in promotional materials.
Conceptualize, create and deliver social media content, including planning and calendaring posts across all platforms.
Monitor and analyze social media performance to adjust district strategies to maximize engagement and effectiveness of messaging.
Proactively monitor and maintain content on district and school websites to help ensure information is updated and aligned with communications initiatives.
Assist with planning, design and production of internal and external graphics and print materials.
Research and monitor digital media trends to ensure district communications methods are effective, creative, engaging and productive.
Perform all tasks with sensitivity, confidentiality and professionalism.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Successful performance of the job requires good customer service/people skills to resolve problems and provide information as requested. It requires following safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to self. It requires following school district dress standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving are important to the success of the position. An incumbent should be comfortable interacting with the general public and news media at all times in a confident and friendly manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
