Must hold a license issued by Virginia Department of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Collegiate Professional License, Division Superintendent License, Eligibility License, Postgraduate Professional License, Provisional License, Pupil Personnel Services License, Technical Professional License, Vocational Evaluator License, Statement of Eligibility, Special Education Conditional License.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Elementary Teacher, Elementary, English, Fine Arts, Language Arts, Languages, Math, Music, Reading, Science, Social Science, Special Education, Substitute, Substitute - Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide, Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal (Vocational), Athletic Director, Principal, Principal (Vocational).
The license must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active. Expired certifications will be considered.

SUMMARY The Director of Extended Education is responsible for the operation and management of the Extended Education programs within the division to include before school care, after school care, seasonal camps, tutoring, and enrichment programs. Work collaboratively with school administration and community based partners in the operation of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and manage the program budget to include fee structure for participation, pay scales for employees, maintain records of income, expenses and tax information associated with the operation of the program. Manage overall program operations to ensure compliance with school board policies and State regulations. Coordinate the work schedule for employees in each program. Manage all aspects of employee hiring for the various programs and camps. Maintain and update the employee handbook. Manage the entire Extended Education program staff. Oversee the registration process for new students in the program. Manage payment collection and processing for all accounts/programs. Complete necessary paperwork and forms for deposits, receipts, registrations and program requirements. Maintain and update the parent/student handbook. Manage the program website, phone, and email inquiries. Work collaboratively with the building administrator(s) to ensure daily operations are consistent with the building guidelines concerning student rules and safety, custodial obligations, shared equipment within the PE department, and other usage of facilities. Oversee the ordering and purchasing of food for the entire program(s). Work with the food services manager to coordinate the preparation and storage of food per guidelines. Work with administration to facilitate required inspections and compliance with State regulations. Meet and maintain State guidelines for after school, seasonal, and summer programs. Coordinate and oversee program activities to include field trips and transportation. Coordinate and oversee homework and tutoring programs for the after school program. Plan and facilitate required monthly drills for fire, natural disasters, intruders, and other situations as per requirements. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff within the Extended Education program.
