This is a Student Advocate/Tracker position. The contact for this position is Thomas Paul and can be reached at email@example.com. The candidate can work up to 29 hours/week. The position offers at a Teacher Assistant 2, Lane 6, at $13.75/hour. The candidate will be asked to work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis. Student Advocates/Trackers are asked to help with attendance, traffic flow before and after school, covering classrooms (as needed), supervising student passing periods and lunches, and other assignments requested by administration. The most important focus for a Student Advocate/Tracker is to build connections and provide support to students. Other possible responsibilities are as follows:
Meeting with students to discuss goals, progress, needs, etc.
Meeting with school counselors and administration to discuss the students progress, attendance, goals, needs, etc.
Conducting or assisting with study-skills/study hall/life skills class periods where students can catch up on missing assignments, make up credits, receive tutoring help, and learn about organization, goal-setting and planning skills.
Providing tutoring during school or after school as needed
Providing parents with a personal connection to the school and their student’s progress/goals through emails, phone calls and accompanied home visits as needed
Assisting with home visits as needed
Tracking intervention time, activities, GPA and credits recovered for all students within the assigned grade level
Assisting with student success in other ways based on student and school needs
