Purpose Statement

The job of Parts Manager is done for the purpose/s of ensuring the correct mix and amount of parts are available for the transportation vehicles ensuring the efficiency and productivity of the service center operations, donducting effective communication with staff, vendors, and others withing the scope of the job responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Acquires necessary parts and materials (e.g. parts, consumables, fluids, lubes, and tires, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring vehicles are ready to transport students.
Assesses the transportation fleet for the purpose of forecasting and ensuring inventory for parts, consumables, fluids, lubes and tires is adequate to provide efficient workflow on regular maintenance and repairs.
Attends unit in-service and safety meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
Distributes necessary materials (e.g. parts, consumables, fluids, lubes and tires, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient maintenance and repairs of vehicles.
Maintains efficient organization and cleanliness for the purpose of ensuring the availability of parts and consumables, and safety within the workspace within the Transportation Service Department.
Maintains records of repairs, maintenance, purchases, costs, vehicle warranties, etc. for the purpose of documenting required information and meeting regulatory requirements.
Manages Core Bank and all warranty and part returns for the purpose of maximizing proper reimbursement of funds, ensuring proper documentation.
Oversees purchasing contracts (e.g. district, Utah State, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring appropriate judiciary responsibility of getting the best product for the best price.
Prepares reports (e.g. cost/saving analysis, parts lists, inventory, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and meeting mandated requirements.
Prepares written materials and electronic financial information (e.g. vendor invoices, etc.) for the purpose of into Dossier for inventory analysis of turns and required adjustments, providing reference, conveying information, and complying with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
Researches multiple cataloging systems for part applications and OEM interchange for aftermarket components for the purpose of expanding sourcing through numerous vendors.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Class -B CDL with School Bus and Passenger endorsements
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
Job related experience within a specialized field is required
