School Social Worker
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Social Worker.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Licensed School Social Worker with experience providing school social work assistance to children, youth and families. Ability to establish relationships and work cooperatively as a team member with school staff, parents, children, youth, community agencies and colleagues. Exhibit strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Experience with an interagency interdisciplinary team coordinating family services. Possess knowledge of community resources, strengths-based assessment and documentation of interventions and activities. Provide case management coordination of multiple services and intervention on a weekly, bi-weekly and on an as needed basis for students & families.
Job Specifications: a) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work; b) Identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success; c) Provide assessment, intervention and/or linkage to appropriate service support for families; d) Provide intervention at school and/or in-home support to comprehensively address family challenges; e) Facilitate research-based proven effective programs, curriculum and strategies that emphasize reconnecting youth to school; promoting life-long social skills, daily attendance tracking, decreasing risk factors and increasing protective factors. Home-school partnerships are strengthened through this collaborative approach; f) Will coordinate with appropriate agencies to provide a continuum of care for families; g) Experience working with MTSS preferred.
