Preschool Instructional Coach (Open Until Filled)
The preschool instructional coach will provide individual coaching through coaching cycles of program teachers, support our program framework and curriculum, plan and deliver a diverse range of professional development, consult with school administrators, support and promote family engagement, and provide informal ECERS-3 observations and feedback. The preschool Instructional Coach will also collaborate and support teachers in to increase the English proficiency of Multilingual Learner (ML) students in our preschool programs.
Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and ethical standards to advance the mission, goals, and policies of Tooele County School District.
Participation in all required instructional coaching professional development. The coach is charged with acquiring the knowledge, skills, technology skills, and instructional strategies to effectively impact the instructional practices of the teachers that are coached.
Must remain knowledgeable about current and past research in the specific content area and other pedagogies relevant to the coaching model.
Identification of the school teaching and learning needs, barriers and weaknesses by analyzing student data, and organizing and implementing problem-solving actions with teachers (in teams and individually) to refine their knowledge and skills.
Support teachers in developing individual student goals to support academic and behavior needs.
Uses data analysis to track and monitor progress of diverse preschool student populations and supports teachers, assistants, other professional and administrators in understanding the implications of assessment results upon instruction.
Provides information and conducts high quality staff development opportunities in best practices for differentiated and integrated EL instructional strategies.
Monitor instructional effectiveness and student progress using tools and strategies gained through professional development.
In collaborative development of district-wide diagnostic and benchmark assessments.
Communication with supervisor and site administration through a weekly schedule/log of activities.
Support in planning and promoting family engagement activities.
Advocate for ML students attending school/parent meetings pertaining to specific ML students and coordinating translation/interpretation options for ML families when necessary.
Participates in district level meetings and conducts ML professional learning opportunities under the direction of the Federal Programs Director.
Performance of additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Coach will have:
Will have attended and completed Coach Training (including but not limited to a coaching certificate)
Experience with different preschool curriculums
Experience in Public and Private Preschool classrooms
Experience designing and presenting Professional Development
Family Engagement (Plan and utilizes various strategies to connect with families)
Experience and knowledge of ECERS-3 tool
Become knowledgeable and adheres to WIDA Language Standards
Problem solving skills
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or currently working towards a degree or a coaching certification
ESL Endorsement preferred or willing to attain within 2 years
Experience in differentiated instruction in a standards-based curriculum
Minimum of 3 or more years of successful classroom teaching experience
Collaborate well with teachers and directors
Receptiveness to feedback and strong growth mindset around various methodologies of coaching
Experience working with a diverse population of students, teachers, families, and administrators
High-level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
Establish and maintain confidential relationships with teachers. The conversations and interactions that the coach has with teachers must always remain confidential so that a high level of trust is created and maintained between the teacher and the coach.
Ability to quickly build rapport with teachers and keep them motivated and productive
Ability to work with multiple personality types
Strong facilitation skills
Applicants must have a current Utah teaching license or have the ability to obtain a current Utah teaching license as outlined by the guidelines of the Utah State Board of Education (USBE)
USBE License Level : AEL or Associates or Professional
License Area : Early Childhood Education , Birth to 5 yrs or Preschool Special Education, Birth to 5yrs
Teachers licensed outside of Utah : Reciprocity with other states regarding licensure is not guaranteed and is contingent on the fulfilling minimum license and endorsement requirements for Utah.

Full Time, 187 days paid over 12 months
Certified Salary Schedule
8 day sick leave and 4 personal leave per fiscal year
