Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

Successful candidates will be responsible for the education of student within the Self Contained unit and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The teacher is responsible to run instruction and to follow students IEP. Teacher will write and review IEP, conduct IEP meetings and collect data on students' progress. Severe Endorsement required, however Mild, Moderate will be considered

The teacher will participate in weekly grade level Professional Learning Community meetings during which time, student formative data will be used to guide their instruction to help all students succeed academically, have strong classroom management skills, collaborates effectively with team as well as others in the school to accomplish ALA vision and goals, have high expectations for students, provide effective instruction so all students are able to learn and grow. Professional relations will be developed and maintained with staff and parents. Provides and maintains a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and the school grounds. Demonstrates professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission. Conforms to ALA policies including attendance, absences and evaluations and has knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Essential Elements.. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensure compliance with IDEA policies and procedures Supervision of Para Educators Provide instruction in core subjects, behavioral strategies, and/or life skills Analyze student data to determine implications for interventions and placement in the least restrictive environment. Computer and effective classroom technology use Have knowledge of IDEA regulations Possess the ability to organize and attend to detail Possess the ability to collaborate Possess excellent interpersonal skills Perform other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS---Not limited to the following: Requires the ability to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds. Ability to be physically active to engage with multiple student grade levels, activity levels and actions.
