Manager, Technology Operations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Incumbent will coordinate, implement and evaluate district-wide instructional and administrative technology projects across multiple platforms. Ensures completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Manages the technology support services staff responsible for the daily computing functions for 1:1 student devices, school-division owned technology resources, staff/teacher devices, and BYOD. Managed the parts inventory and leads computer repair services.
Collaborates closely with enterprise infrastructure and support services teams to ensure that imaging of devices is successful. Works closely with departmental technology staff to ensure that inventories are correct and that devices are distributed and recovered. Works closely with Technology Leadership, Instructional Leadership and school-based staff on the deployment and management of the student 1:1 initiative.
Works closely with vendor(s) on warranty tracking and repair. Provides budgetary input to Director, Technology Services. Serves as part of the Technology Services Leadership Team.

Leads team of school and division based technical support technicians, engineers and supervisors and ensures that timely, responsive technical support is provided to all users; Schedules and assigns technicians based on school instructional needs; Collaborates with technology and instructional leadership staff to support the effective delivery of division technology hardware, software, and tools; Collaborates with Director, Tech Services on the hardware replacement cycle and sustainability of devices; Manages vendor support for warranty and repair services; Plans, manages and supervises the deployment of technology throughout the school division; Coordinates inventory management and tracking with designated Technology Services staff; Manages parts orders and warranty expirations; Conducts training and staff meetings for support staff; Collaborates with engineering and technical staff to optimize image development, computer imaging and configurations, and chromebook provisioning; Provides budgetary input to Director for hardware/software/subscription services; Ensures network and devices are in full operational order in support of daily instruction and state testing (SOL); Manages infrastructure for a large GSuite implementation; Project coordinator and support for 1:1 student initiative; Works with technology staff in developing and planning the implementation of new technology-based services. Projects may span multiple groups with input gathered from various individuals; Coordinates administrative and technical resources for planning, development, implementation and maintenance of technology projects; Stays informed of developments in information and technology fields; Provides frequent project status reports to Technology leadership team; Serves as a member of the Technology Services leadership team to meet departmental and organizational deadlines; Coordinates project resources with Technology team leaders; Evaluates current operations processes and recommends solutions that assist in streamlining efficiencies in cost and time; Works with technology resources to develop and maintain a documentation library; Communicate and reach a group consensus from relevant employees and technology staff members with regard to project plans and implementation; Anticipate and plan for deviations in project plans, adjusting as necessary to maintain project schedule and communicate changes to relevant personnel; Perform related work as required.
